Local bylaws state that anyone can put down lobster pots and catch up to 2 lobsters a day for their own consumption. Well yesterday evening we caught one of our quota. In a secret location somewhere of the south cornwall coast we pulled up 5 lobster pots.
Our total catch was 4 lobsters (3 thrown back as too small). One large dog fish, thrown back because it was big and ugly and we didn't know what to do with it. One "bootlace" Conger Eel (about 3 foot long, thrown back because we were scared of it!) and about 10 crabs all thrown back because they were too small.
We have just eaten the lobster for lunch and very nice it was too.
This is a picture of Ami and Tess trying to work out how to get the lobster out of the pot!
